This year, the Ateneo Graduate School of Business Student Council once again brought the AGSB community together through AGSBigay 2026: Project ARUGA – A Stream of Support for Learning and Living, our annual outreach initiative that embodies our shared commitment to becoming men and women for others.
Now in its fifth year, AGSBigay continues to grow as a tradition of service rooted in compassion, collaboration, and responsible leadership. This year’s initiative also marked our fourth year of partnership with Sapang Uwak Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga—a relationship built not on a single day of giving, but on a shared commitment to supporting the school’s evolving needs and contributing to a more nurturing learning environment for its community.
Home to more than 230 students from an Aeta indigenous community, Sapang Uwak Elementary School has become more than a beneficiary of AGSBigay. Over the years, it has become a valued partner, helping us better understand how meaningful, community-informed support can create lasting impact. Guided by conversations with school leaders and community partners, Project ARUGA focused on responding to the school’s identified priorities by listening first and working alongside the community to create meaningful, lasting support.
What followed was a remarkable demonstration of what is possible when an entire community chooses to serve.
Students, alumni, faculty, corporate partners, and friends of AGSB answered the call with overwhelming generosity. Together, the AGSB community contributed ₱91,200 in monetary donations, while our partners and sponsors supplemented the initiative with ₱190,468.25 worth of in-kind contributions, allowing Project ARUGA to respond to the school’s identified priorities in ways that financial donations alone could not. Together, these contributions represented a total community investment of ₱281,668.25 in strengthening learning opportunities at Sapang Uwak Elementary School.
One of the most significant outcomes of this year’s initiative was the installation of a 2.5 HP split-type air-conditioning unit for the school’s library, funded through the generosity of the AGSB community. More than a facility improvement, it represents an investment in a learning space where students can read, study, and discover new ideas in greater comfort. Alongside this, the generosity of our corporate partners and sponsors helped provide essential educational resources, school supplies, food support, health essentials, transportation, logistics, and volunteer support—ensuring that the school received assistance that reflected its identified needs.
The success of Project ARUGA was made possible by volunteers who dedicated countless hours working behind-the-scenes before our outreach day, packing, and delivering donations; by partners and sponsors who shared our vision; and by donors whose generosity extended far beyond financial contributions. Every act of giving became part of a larger story—one that reflects the values we strive to live as members of the AGSB community.
AGSBigay has always been more than an annual outreach project. It is a reminder that true leadership extends beyond the classroom and into our communities. It challenges us to transform empathy into action, to lead with compassion, and to recognize that our greatest impact is often measured not by individual accomplishments but by what we build together.
As we reflect on the fifth year of AGSBigay and another meaningful chapter in our partnership with Sapang Uwak Elementary School, we extend our deepest gratitude to every donor, volunteer, partner, sponsor, and member of the AGSB community who made this initiative possible.
Because of you, a library became a more comfortable space for learning. Because of you, essential resources identified by the school were delivered through the generosity of our partners. Most importantly, a community was reminded that they are not alone—that there are people who believe in their aspirations and are willing to walk alongside them.
This is the spirit of AGSBigay.
This is what happens when a community leads with purpose.
