Last January 17, the AGSB Student Council held Leaders Lab, a hands-on learning space designed to equip student leaders with practical project management skills while grounding leadership in service, reflection, and purpose.

The session featured speakers from both current and former Student Council officers, who shared essential project management foundations—from crafting a strong project proposal to mobilizing effective and collaborative teams. Drawing from real student leadership experiences, the speakers emphasized that successful projects require not only structure and execution, but also clarity of purpose and care for people.
Beyond learning from the speakers, participants were challenged to put theory into action. Working in teams, they developed and presented their own student program pitches, applying what they learned about vision-setting, planning, and teamwork. This culminated in a pitch presentation, with one proposal standing out: “One Big Run. One Big Heart.” The winning pitch captured the spirit of service and community that Leaders Lab aimed to cultivate.

At its core, Leaders Lab reflected transformative learning in action—where skills are learned by doing, leadership is practiced through collaboration, and ethical decision-making is shaped by Ignatian values such as Magis and Cura Personalis. More than a workshop, it served as a formation space for student leaders to see project management as a means of serving others and building sustainable initiatives for the AGSB community.

As the Student Council continues to create spaces for learning and leadership, Leaders Lab stands as a reminder that the most meaningful projects begin with purpose—and are carried forward by leaders committed to integrity, service, and shared growth.
